Did you know? Every year thousand of New Yorkers rely on your help to keep warm during the harsh winter months.  Fifty thousand New Yorkers without permanent homes spend their nights in various municipal shelters. Twenty thousand of those people are children who often must spend their days in the cold.  This is why we will one again be collecting coats for the 26th annual New York Cares Coat Drive.  We need you to go through your closets and pull out your gently worn winter coats. Then come in and drop it off at Mario's French Dry Cleaners.

New York Cares was founded by a group of friends who wanted to take action against serious social issues that faced our city in the late 1980's.  Finding few options to help, they created their own organization to address the problems from the ground up.  One of the programs is the coat drive. This is the 26th coat drive.  This year they hope to collect 100.000 coats.  Give the gift of warmth drop off a coat at our location at 191 New Dorp Lane Staten Island, New York. For a full list of collection sites, dates, and times, visit newyorkcares.org.

Wedding Gown Preservation by Mario's French Dry Cleaners in Staten Island

Unfortunately, the cake, flowers, and reception don't last forever. Your wedding gown is one of the few keepsakes that stays with you. It is the only tangible item guaranteed to bring back the memories of your special day. Protect your cherished gown from yellowing, fabric damage and stains using our preservation system.  We will provide protection essential to your heirloom while offering an elegant package to showcase it. The features of this system ensures your gown will withstand the test of time and provide you with peace of mind.

Mario's French Dry Cleaners offers the finest wedding gown cleaning and preservation in the Staten Island area.  Our garment care specialist tests every type of bead and fabric on the dress.Your wedding gown is then meticulously cleaned and pressed with the up most care. We then ask our brides to inspect  the gown before it is preserved to ensure everything has been cleaned and pressed to their expectations. We offer several different preservation methods. You may choose a muslin bag, a specifically designed garment bag that allows the dress to breathe while protecting it from permanent creases, light, and dust. This is an excellent option if you are short on space. We also offer a boxed method. The gown  is situated in a specifically designed, acid-free, museum quality gold foil box. Acid -free tissue paper is used to buffer folds along with a cardboard bodice to maintain the integrity of the dress.

Experts agree that it is important to preserve your gown as soon as possible. Avoid leaving the dress on a hanger which can ruin the shape, or in a plastic bag which can cause yellowing. After preservation, store your dress in a dry, cool environment. You should avoid basements, musty attics and direct sunlight.

Make your memories last! Consider Mario's French Dry Cleaners to preserve all your cherished items:
-Christening gowns
-Communion suits and dresses
